Behavioral Health Data Analytics Collaborative (BHDAC)
BHDAC is a unique data-gathering project that provides a valuable data analytics infrastructure solution designed to improve clients’ behavioral health outcomes and save costs.
The Strategic Partnership between Capital Behavioral Health Network (CBHN), Integrity Partners for Behavioral Health (IPBH), University at Buffalo (UB), and our network of providers have successfully built a new community asset that is sustainable and growing.
How it Works
Extract EHR Data
Load Into Data Warehouse
Receive Quarterly CQI Reports
Project Benefits
BHDAC has created a data warehouse of a combined limited data set made of PHI from IPA member organizations EHR systems.
BHDAC delivers organizational, network, and statewide CQI reports; supports predictive analytics and personalized BH treatment; and allows members to participate in ethical, real-world research—all designed to improve client outcomes, personalize care, and reduce costs.
Our UB partner received Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval for the BHDAC initiative, which allows a limited data set to be used by the university for research purposes. In addition, written approval by the NYS Office of Mental Health was received for the project, which is in compliance with NYS Mental Hygiene Law and HIPAA.
The IRB approval has removed the challenge of obtaining individual client consent, making us the best option for sustainable data driven outcome solutions in the field. The number of committed partners continues to expand, and the project has been recognized by the Office of Mental Health and OASIS as the future direction that providers should be taking.
